Are you still working long hours to make a profit in your business? Are you continuously battling with Cash Flow issues? Dealing with Staff problems? Working on how to ensure that you sell more to people who will pay you? And all of this you have to deal with on your own...
The mistakes that businesses make are less about the idea and more about the things that are not so obvious, but can be totally deadly. These mistakes are equal opportunity killers I’ve seen Corporate fail through the same mistakes– it’s just that the smaller business may not have the deep pockets to recover!

Workmans Compensation Return of Earnings which is due by 31st March 2012.

The main reason for this email is to point out some disturbing news about this year's Workmans Compensation Return of Earnings which is due by 31st March 2012.

It started out as a simple question here -
http://www.theforumsa.co.za/forums/showthread.php/11723-Return-of-Earnings-(WCC-COIDA)
Have you received a WCC return of earnings form yet?

It seems no-one has, apparently because they haven't been posted yet! The bad news is despite this being the WCC's fault, feedback says they will still be levying late return penalties anyway if your return is received after 31st March 2012.

It is a crazy situation - and not the only thing going wrong at the office of the Workmans Compensation Commissioner (as you will see if you follow that link above).

The good news is a member has managed to get a copy of the return in Excel format - attached to post 8 here
http://www.theforumsa.co.za/forums/showthread.php/3057-Workmans-Compensation-Earnings-return-form
so hopefully that will help you if you have the dubious pleasure of having to submit this return.

My concern now moves to people who are going to get hit by this unfair penalty if nothing is done - and perhaps you can help.

If you know a business owner, or someone in management at a company, forward them this message.
If you have your own experience of WCC madness, add a message in the thread (first link above).
And if you know someone who might have the influence to stir things up at the office of the Commissioner, could you please pass this message on to them too.

Want to know how to increase the cash flow in your business?

Thursday, March 8, 2012
8:00am until 11:00am
Due to this being such a hot topic at the moment, we thought we would bring you some much needed answers on how you can increase your cash flow!

TOPIC: HOW IS YOUR CASH FLOW? WANT TO KNOW HOW TO INCREASE YOUR CASH FLOW?

Presented by Robyn Hey of Robyn Hey & Associates

Have you considered how changing your standard terms and conditions can dramatically improve your cash flow? “Cash is the lifeblood of any business. Business owners need it and debtors are loathe to part with it.

Robyn Hey will empower you with the facts you need to improve your cash flow so that you can:
1. protect your business from customers who misunderstand their rights under the Consumer protection Act;
2. protect your cash flow from debtors who refuse to pay or who pay late; and
3. understand the options you have to collect money from dodgy debtors.

With more than 10 years of experience in commercial law combined with her experience as a business owner, Robyn will ensure that you leave the breakfast ready to take your business to the next level.”

Robyn Hey & Associates believes in giving clients exceptional service through working closely with their clients to evaluate all the options at their disposal to reach the best possible commercial solution. Empowering clients is something the firm is passionate about and Robyn is excited about an opportunity to do just that for Xtraordinary Women!

GUEST SPEAKER:
Robyn Hey - Director: Robyn Hey & Associates
Robyn started practicing for her own account in August 2008. She initially “squatted” at a spare desk in a colleague’s office and had no client base to speak of. However by consistently delivering exceptional service Robyn developed a reputation for excellence. At the end of 2010, Robyn tricked her two partners, Nichola and Michelle, with vague promises of fame and fortune into joining her on the adventure of a lifetime and has never looked back. The 3D’s (as they call themselves – short for “3 directors”) have charged ahead and the growth of Robyn Hey and Associates has been such that the firm opened a second office in Claremont and had to procure larger office space in Woodstock to accommodate the burgeoning city branch of the practice.

Determined to change the way law is practiced in South Africa, Robyn’s peculiar brand of humour combined with the firm’s highest standards of service and expertise has seen the firm’s client base grow and change over the last three years. Clients such as Virgin Active, Stor-Age, The Foodbank, The Foschini Group of Companies, Invicta Holdings, Sasol and many other small, medium and large businesses have been drawn to this dynamic commercial practice which offers not only legal advice but real legal solutions and advice to businesses.
