Slovenian Business Delegation: Networking Opportunity – Johannesburg (25 & 26 Sept), Cape Town (27 Sept)
In my capacity as Honorary Consul of Slovenia I will be hosting a Slovenian business delegation in South Africa during the last week of September.
Slovenia’s geographical position in the heart of Europe and strong logistical and professional services make it an excellent hub from which to access Central and Eastern Europe with more than 300 million consumers. The Slovenian government recently announced a strong emphasis on trading with the high-growth BRICS countries, including South Africa which now represents the “S”.
The group of 12–15 delegates will be on a fact-finding mission regarding the business and investment climate in South Africa. A number of all-round entrepreneurs are included in the group, but the following specific industries are also represented:
• Automotive components (cylinders and die casting), and components for agriculture, construction and hydro motors
• Home automation and CCTV, and electrical equipment
• Construction and kindergartens
• Civil engineering, industrial engineering, wood processing, logistics, power engineering, ecology, machine building and automotive industry
• White goods and electronic appliances
• Telecommunications, specialised computer applications (including health care and lottery)
• Power generation – generating sets and cogeneration plants
• Fire-fighting trucks
• Wool, raw materials for chicken feed, and electricity from waste rubber
• Fruit, bakery and beverages, and refrigeration, baking and beverage equipment
There will be three opportunities to interact with the delegates at one-on-one (so-called B2B) meetings:
Johannesburg
• Tuesday, 25 September, from 12:30 – 15:00 (hosted by BUSA, Sandton)
• Wednesday, 26 September, from 10:45 – 13:30 (hosted by Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Milpark)
Cape Town
• Thursday, 27 September, from 10:30 – 13:30 (hosted by Wesgro, Cape Town)
If you are interested in attending these meetings, please confirm by e-mail to info@slovenianconsulate.co.za by not later than Sunday, 9 September 2012, providing your name, company details and the specific industries in which you are interested (which may simply be general business opportunities). Once I receive your response, I will provide you with full address details.
