Some of the world’s most intelligent minds will be in Sandton in September to share their leadership strategies and insights into global financial, economic and management issues at the third annual Discovery Invest Leadership Summit.

The summit will be held at the Sandton Convention Centre on 21 September 2011.

Continuing the tradition of previous Discovery Invest Leadership Summits, speakers have been selected for their provocative, challenging and inspiring philosophies which have earned them international acclaim.

The stellar line-up includes respected New York economics professor, Dr Nouriel Roubini, well-known for his now-vindicated predictions of the global financial crisis and named on the Foreign Policy’s Top 100 and the Global Thinkers 2010 lists. Ricardo Semler, MD of Brazil’s Semco S/A group and one of Latin America’s most visionary business leaders, is sure to impress delegates. Semler is also the author of bestsellers, Maverick and The Seven-Day Weekend and was named ‘Global Leader of Tomorrow’ by the World Economic Forum in Switzerland.

Joining them on the podium will be Chris Anderson and Dan Ariely. Anderson is the editor-in-chief of Wired Magazine, bestselling author of ‘Free’ and ‘The Long Tail’ and was listed as one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2007. Ariely, a Professor of Psychology and Behavioural Economics at Duke University, is also a New York Times bestselling author and his research has been widely published in leading psychology, economic and business journals.

Outstanding local African leadership will be headlined by Graça Machel, founder and president of the Graça Machel Trust and advocate for children and women’s rights; Adrian Gore, CEO of Discovery Holdings and the Sunday Times 2010 Business leader of the Year as well as Maria Ramos, group chief executive of Absa Group Ltd., who was voted as one of Fortune Magazine’s most influential women in the world.
