Penny Jones - Stadium Theatre Producer; Mass Display Choreographer
Short Bio
A BA Fine Arts graduate from the University of Cape Town with over 15 years experience in business, Penny is an international expert in stadium theatre, mass display choreography and logistics. She worked on the 1996 Atlanta Olympics Opening Ceremony, co-ordinated all the Ceremonies for the 2004 Olympic Bid for Cape Town, South Africa, staged the mass displays for the 2006 World Cup Soccer Logo launch, produced the mass displays for the Opening and Closing ceremonies for 1999 All Africa Games, worked on the 2000 Sydney Olympics Opening and Closing ceremonies and has just returned from the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics Opening ceremony. Penny was the Executive Producer of the “Biggest Show in Africa”, the Opening ceremony of the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup, having been selected from over 80 contenders for this world class event. In 2010 she charted and trained the team leaders for the massive 12500 strong cast production celebrating the Sultans of Oman’s 40th year reign and 70th birthday.
Her presentation focuses on both personal growth and leadership practices and parallels the incredible challenges of staging a show of this size and living a full productive life.
It addresses the winning leadership mindset and the massive vision required to bid for, create, produce and stage a show with thousands of volunteers.
