Join us for an inspirational Networking Breakfast with Nyaradzo Mavindidze on Thursday 28 November, 2013

One of the essential keys to success in life and in business is the ability to control your emotions and actions. We can only control what we can control. Self-mastery makes all the difference between success and failure.

Nyaradzo Mavindidze, training consultant, motivational speaker and life coach, will speak on how you can improve  your Self Mastery and Leadership skills. A psychologist by profession, Nyaradzo is passionate about helping people improve and excel in their lives holistically.
Nyaradzo says, “Every one of us already has power, it’s just a matter of peeling away the stuff that shadows who you are and what you are capable of…” As a Coach, Nyaradzo creates an environment where you and your dreams, your challenges, fears and victories are the focus. A time and space to be you, to find out who you are and what you want, and to then go out and create that. Nyaradzo  has guided many to greater self-realization, the achievement of lifelong dreams and most importantly, a place of greater power. She has worked with clients over a range of topics including Goal-Setting, Confidence Building, Weight Loss, Time Management, Life Planning, Personal Effectiveness, Public Speaking and Financial Management.
Nyaradzo publishes motivational materials, journals and daily planners. She is the co-author of the book; ‘Breaking the Glass Ceiling- Career Strategies for Women.’ Her motivational articles are published in local magazines and tabloids. She currently writes a motivational column ‘Motivation for Success’ published in The Herald in the business section every Monday

Networking is not a one night stand! How to Follow Up on Networking Contacts

by Karl Smith - TheNetworkingGuy

MOTIVATIONAL BUSINESS SPEAKER/EXECUTIVE COACH/NETWORKING, PERSONAL BRANDING, REFERRAL MARKETING STRATEGIST/AUTHOR
Effective networking during trade shows can help build business relationships that turn into “referral machines” for you. Regrettably many companies invest millions in exhibitions at the trade shows and conferences with little or no ROI.

On a recent afternoon, Natacha, regional sales manager for a Connectivity enterprise in the telecommunications industry, utilized my expertise to prepare her team for AfricaCom - Africa's largest annual communications Congress and Exhibition – currently in progress at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

Breakfast Seminar: Business as (Un)usual - Driving your bottom line through your employees

Discover why investing time and energy to engage your employees makes absolute business sense and what you can do to increase the commitment and productivity levels of your workforce.
Business is at a crossroads. Robert Reich, professor at the University of California, argues in a new documentary Inequality for All that the widening inequality between the middle classes and the super-rich is threatening the US economy. And, addressing inequality in South Africa in his new book Suspended Revolution, Professor Adam Habib, Vice-Chancellor of the University of the Witwatersrand, warns our economic elites to "compromise now or risk losing everything". That risk is dramatically illustrated in the recent labour disputes which resulted in Amplats losing millions due to lost output, and BMW losing production of about 13,000 vehicles and deciding to halt investment and expansion plans. Clearly business cannot go on as usual - something has got to give.

KILL THE MOUSE - USE SHORTCUTS!

There is a secret language on your computer that is built on two words: KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS!

Keyboard shortcuts are great! Herewith reasons why this secret language is so useful:
• They can save you tons of time and effort “ studies calculate that using keyboard shortcuts allows you to work 10 times faster than working with the mouse.
• Shortcuts can save your hand from the repetitive strain of constant clicking.
• The same shortcut can, in some instances, be applied across different programmes.
• Even if programmes are upgraded the shortcuts stay the same.

Even though many of us know shortcuts are useful, few of us bother using them. Why? Yes! I know, you can’t remember them! Come and learn how to remember and make use of shortcuts, ranging from the beginner to expert. The truth is keyboard shortcuts don`t replace mousing; they complement it!

About our Guest Speaker:

Debbie Laubscher is passionate about equipping people with information that will help them move from frustration behind the computer to “Yes, I can do this!” Even though her career started about twenty years ago as an Entomologist, the Computer “gogga” bit her and she never looked back.
Working for Computers 4 Kids and being responsible for various computer centers in the Western Cape allowed her the opportunity to gain valuable experience not only in training and running networks but also in business. She started her computer training business 10 years ago where she specialize in one-on-one training for clients behind their own computers. Her clientele vary from an 18 year old fearful grade 12 CAT student to a 96 year old 2nd World War veteran pilot.

A year ago she started compiling booklets on various topics that will make the time behind your computer easier and more fun. The information in these booklets is taken from many years of working with clients on a one-on-one base and finding the same questions popping up again and again. Her aim is to provide information that will help you simplify basic things on your computer and thereby minimizing frustration behind the big C! Simply put, iSimplifi is about simplifying! Bit by bit.

Showcase Your Business Conference & Exhibition Opening Dinner

Showcase Your Business Conference & Exhibition Opening Dinner

The Showcase Your Business concept was successfully launched in 2007 and this year will be the 6th event. Showcase Your Business is ground-breaking in that it gives small business owners the opportunity to learn about how to improve the running of their companies while they demonstrate their businesses and pick up new potential leads. Small businesses take part in the exhibition that runs around the walls of where the conference is taking place (no shell scheme), with an emphasis on encouraging businesses to demonstrate creatively and practically what their businesses are all about.
