14 October: Xtraordinary Women Coastal Network Event Listing

TOPIC: “I believe in Me"

“I believe in me”, a statement many women are not able to say confidently in this day and age.

After achieving professionally, overcoming sickness, wrestling with failure, saddened by disappointments, marriage and children taking over, your life often ends up, upside down.

The world has changed completely and the patriarchal laws have caught us in a net as we require liberation and empowerment. From breast feeding to the boardroom, we have neglected a crucial aspect of our lives – “US"

Basha will share her journey to disconnection. Being a good mother, wife and community leader, she surely thought she had everything under control until her doctor told her, on that fateful day April 19th 2012, "Basha, you need to lose weight…or….". She found herself at a whapping 134kg's and she didn’t know how it happened.

This is where her journey started. Not believing that she could do what she had to.

It’s funny, the entire world sees a woman who has got it together …little do they realize that she is crying inside. Seeking help, affirmation and confirmation!

Your story might differ slightly from Basha’s. It might be about overcoming failure – in your business or personal life, divorce, overcoming depression etc. But ultimately when you are able to look in the mirror and say – “THIS IS ME – AND I LOVE ME.” You will have arrived at a place of peace.

Join us as Basha shares some key learnings from her own journey of how you can learn to believe in yourself again after a life filled with setbacks, disappointments and failures.
