Coastal - Network Event

Coastal - Network Event

Topic: Advertising for entrepreneurs

The fundamental reason for business failure is the lack of sales which is ultimately caused by the lack of customers. Lack of customers is caused for many reasons - but let's lets for a minute walk a mile in the passionate Entrepreneur's shoes...They have a great concept, are passionate about their business, work hard and long hours trying to grow their business, they have an awesome product that could benefit someone out there, they network regularly and they have a super website that they paid a small fortune to have developed - but still they don't get the sales that they anticipated! Why? It must be immensely frustrating for them!

Advertising! I've seen business struggling to make a profit without some form of advertising or without at least having a plan for their marketing and advertising. These are the same entrepreneurs who've made a 'wrong' decision with regards to where to spend their 'tight' marketing budget and haven't had the response they needed in return on investment. Hence they're now the 'advertising cynic' and have labeled advertising a luxury for small businesses - saying that it doesn't work!
Advertising works! One just needs to turn on the radio, TV and computer or Ipad to see that - big brands would not be spending their money on putting their brand out there if it didn't.
Advertising for a small business is a whole different story. The value in advertising for a small business is in knowing who their customer is, knowing their habits, rituals and traditions and knowing where they work and live. From there on out it's easy...
In this talk we'll cover:
1. Your customer
2. What they need vs. what they want.
3. Answering to their needs with your product or service.
4. Where to reach them
5. Does advertising my small business need to cost money?
6. Getting your bang for your buck!

About the speaker: Robyn Lambrick - Word on the StreetT Media
Robyn spent 23 years working on large retail accounts like Shoprite, Checkers and Aroma Liquor Stores and after a 5 year stint as the general manager of one of the largest advertising agencies in Cape Town - BBDO - she decided to put all her years of experience into her passion...people - their habits, rituals, how they shop and what media they consume.

Word-on-the-Street Media is a single point access to multimedia channel advertising agency. In other words we're happy to apply ourselves to whatever it takes to grow our client's business.

Robyn uses her blue chip experience to make a difference in the lives of entrepreneurs and small to medium businesses. She uses her philosophy of walking a mile in your customer's shoes to get to the very essence of your business, your product service and the human truth behind your customer's needs and wants, their rituals and habits.

At Word on the Street Media, we eat, dream, sleep and drink our client's businesses - for to do it any other way is an injustice to you and your customer.
